Guidelines visitor programme

In this document you will find the guidelines and details of how to apply for a visitor. Before filling out the online application form please carefully read the guidelines, specifically for the amount of financial support that can maximally be provided by Delta ITP. In general, within the bounds set by the annually available visitor budget, when the visitor proposal is in accordance with these guidelines it stands a good chance to be granted on a very short notice.

Medium term visitor

For medium-term (2-6 weeks) visitors that collaborate with Delta ITP faculty the maximal amount Delta ITP will contribute is 5k per month. It is expected that the visitor will present his work at a seminar or colloquium in one or more of the participating institutes. The requested visitor budget, when granted, can be used for travel, accommodation and a per diem, as decided by the host institute. We recommend following the guidelines of the host institute for the amount of per diem, but the maximal per diem that can be offered is set at 55 euro's per day as long as the total granted visitor budget is not exceeded.

Long-term visitor

For long-term (more than 6 weeks) distinguished visitors, that are typically asked to give a series of lectures during their stay, the maximal amount the Delta ITP will contribute has been set at 7.5k per month. The requested visitor budget, when granted, can be used for travel, accommodation and a per diem, as decided by the host institute. We recommend following the guidelines of the host institute for the amount of per diem, but the maximal per diem that can be offered is set at 55 euro's per day as long as the total granted visitor budget is not exceeded.

PhD visitor programme

Only intended for selected (senior) PhD's and under supervision of a Delta ITP staff member, for a maximum period of 6 months and a maximum monthly reimbursement of 1200 euro’s, including accommodation. The maximum per diem is 25 euro’s (750 euro’s per month), but will be less if the accommodation costs more than 450 euro/month. In addition a one-time travel reimbursement will be offered. A short research plan will be provided at the start of the visit and a small report will be prepared at the end.
