On 2 October, the public announcement of the sale of the former University Library on the Singel has been published in various newspapers and relevant channels. Since the new University Library on Vendelstraat was brought into use, the University Library at the Singel has no longer had a structural role for the UvA. This publication marks the starting point of the sale process. It will indicate where interested parties can register their interest. All parties will receive the same information and follow the same procedure.

With this step, the sales process is entering its next phase. Throughout the process, the UvA will retain control over progress and decision-making and will be supported by specialised real estate and legal advisers. This will ensure that the sale is conducted carefully, transparently and in accordance with a predefined procedure.

As previously indicated, the proceeds from the sale will be used to further develop and strengthen the UvA’s real estate portfolio.
