Since 1976, the Association of American Publishers Awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence (PROSE Awards) have recognized the very best in professional and scholarly publishing by celebrating the authors, editors, and publishers whose landmark works have made significant advancements in their respective fields of study. Four PROSE awards are awarded each year, for four different disciplines. Baumann's book 'Cosmology' won the prize in the category Physical Sciences and Mathematics.
The book was published last year by Cambridge University Press. It is based on courses taught at Amsterdam and Cambridge, and expands on Baumann's popular lecture notes used by students and lecturers worldwide.
