Theoretical physicist and cosmologist Alexey Boiarskyi has been appointed full professor at the Leiden Institute of Physics per 1 October 2021

Alexey Boiarskyi

Boiarskyi combines particle physics with cosmology in his theoretical work, and is the initiator of SND@LHC, a neutrino detector that will be built near the Large Hadron Collider. This is the precursor of SHiP (‘Search for Hidden Particles’), a detector that will attempt to detect particles that make up the mysterious Dark Matter,  whose existence is inferred from astronomical observations.
